SRL is honored to have Captain Barry Wilmore, NASA Astronaut, as our Keynote Speaker. How wonderful it will be to hear firsthand from our Brother in Christ who has personally performed four spacewalks! Having already logged 167 days in space, Captain Wilmore will command the first flight of the Boeing Starliner spacecraft, scheduled for launch in the fall of 2021. While in space, at a designated time, he will wear the SRL Seminary logo. Astronaut Wilmore gave a lecture to thousands of people through SRL Latin America that showed a portion of his 90-minute tour around the earth proclaiming marvelous aspects of how “the heavens declare the glory of God.” Please see the link here: https://youtu.be/gOVXzhBYHyE. Noé and I recently visited Pastor Jeff LaSpina at Reformed Baptist Church of Scranton, PA, to express our gratitude for a silent auction that was held to raise funds for SRL. We also visited Emmanuel Bible Church in Schooley’s Mountain, NJ—another congregation that graciously supports SRL. This church is providing full support for a new church plant in Latin America. Noé was privileged to preach at both churches. It was a glorious missions’ time. SDG!
We are grateful to Dr. Del Belcher, Ms. Becca Cook, and Mrs. Ana Davis for their beautiful SRL display at the PCA General Assembly this past June in St. Louis, MO. They were honored to personally meet many of the professors who help fulfill SRL’s mission to Latin America.
After attending the PCA GA, Dr. Belcher, SRL Dean and Executive Administrator, traveled to visit Medellín and Bogotá. In these countries, he is teaching, preaching, and meeting with SRL administrative staff on the mission field. They are also planning to reorganize the curriculum and teaching methods in order to meet the technological demands of the online programs, as well as the in-person classes that students attend. The summertime is financially very lean. Please pray for the faithfulness of the ever-increasing number of students and for SRL finances that will help us to responsibly meet the increasing budget demands.
