A Tribute to Dr. Harry L. Reeder, III
SRL SEMINARY AND LATIN AMERICA GIVE HONOR TO GOD FOR DR. HARRY REEDER: A GIANT IN THE FAITH, IN MINISTRY, AND IN GOD'S KINGDOM.

On Thursday, May 18, 2023, Dr. Harry Reeder was received into the glory of God. He leaves behind a larger-than-life legacy: a fatherly leader of the PCA, an accomplished and effective author, a beloved faculty member at Birmingham Theological Seminary, and founder of Lampstand Ministries. Dr. Reeder’s passion for seminarians and pastors to grow in their knowledge of Scripture and to develop their skills to effectively evangelize inspired his commitment to teach at numerous seminaries, including Seminario Reformado Latinoamericano.
Earlier this year, Dr. Reeder invited an entire SRL team to participate in the Lampstand Conference that was held in Birmingham. He graciously introduced me and shared his awareness about how many pastors throughout Latin America seek advice, guidance, counsel, and resources through SRL.
Dr. Reeder shared with us personally that he desired to present a Lampstand Conference in Latin America in order to assist with church revitalization efforts where needed. Two days prior to his return Home, he asked his team to begin making plans with SRL to coordinate the conference. Thus, as a tribute to Dr. Reeder's life and legacy, Dr. Bryan Wintersteen, the Global Missions Pastor at Briarwood Presbyterian Church, informed me that a conference will take place in Medellin in the near future.
Through Dr. Reeder, Briarwood Presbyterian Church and Birmingham Theological Seminary (BTS) are supporting the SRL ministry. BTS is committed to send professors to teach in Medellin and at other SRL sites. Dr. Thad James, vice-president, and professor of BTS, taught this month at SRL, and expressed to me that SRL is one of the most important educational ministries in Latin America. We are thankful to God for Dr. Reeder.
Please pray for the comfort of Dr. Reeder’s wife, Cindy, and for their family and congregation.
Alongside Christians worldwide, I shall greatly miss Dr. Reeder. He was an inspiration for SRL and a caring friend to me.
Glory to God alone.
Sincerely in Christ,
Dr. Noè S. Acosta, SRL Chancellor
