PRAISES TO GOD FOR THE 14TH SRL REFORMATION CONFERENCE!

We thank God for the abundant fruit yielded by the 2024 SRL Conference in Medellín. Topic highlights included:

• The excellence of Christ.

• The exclusivity of Christ, especially when it is compared to Roman Catholicism and other religions.

• The sufficiency of Christ.

• Christ’s roles as a Prophet, Priest, and King.

• The desperate need for pastors to clearly and distinctly present the Gospel.



Close to 1000 attended, making it clear that a larger venue is needed next year! Dr. Acosta shared with the audience a ten-minute approach to present the Gospel. EVANGELISM IN ACTION

Heavy traffic on one day of the event led to an evangelization opportunity. Dr. Thomas Ascol noticed rosary beads dangling from the rearview mirror in a taxi. Dr. Acosta used the rosary to open a conversation that led Homer, the taxi driver, to know the Gospel and trust in Christ alone. On reaching their destination, Homer exclaimed, “This is the best day of my life! How can all this happen to me on a ride through town? It’s a miracle. Like a mule giving birth! I can’t wait to get home to share this with my family.” With this remarkable testimony, he handed Dr. Ascol the rosary beads saying, “I don’t need this anymore.”

SRL IMPACTS THE WORLD WITH CONFERENCES

LA FAMILIA

San Diego, CA

Dr. Voddie Baucham’s ministry, Wrath and Grace, and SRL Seminary planned a conference on “The Christian Family According to God’s Design.” It successfully took place at the end of July in San Diego, CA. It focused on the explicit and sudden attacks of the enemy upon the family. Using a solid Biblical foundation, God’s design for men, women, marriage, and children was clearly declared.

CREATIONISM VS. EVOLUTIONISM

Santiago, Chile

September 9-14, 2024, Dr. Thomas Woodward of The Discovery Institute, a renowned apologist and author of Darwin Strikes Back and other books, will be teaching at SRL in Santiago, Chile. He will also participate in a Creationist conference together with Dr. Ricardo Bravo, a Chilean university professor, on the compelling evidence of intelligent design and the primary cause of everything. Debates are being planned with faculty and students from local universities to engage the world in thought-provoking discussions to confront the question: Who is the Creator?

A LARGE MEXICAN PRESBYTERY INVITES SRL TO THEIR NATIONAL CONGRESS

At the PCA General Assembly this year, SRL representatives met Rev. Perez Alonso and Rev. Robelio Roblero, leaders of the presbytery of Iglesia Nacional Presbiteriana de México. This is one of the largest Reformed denominations in Mexico that has more than 700 pastors. The leaders expressed interest in SRL to labor with their own university to provide sound, theological education to the pastors. They were highly motivated to know that SRL has the James Montgomery Boice Presbyterian School. Rev. Perez Alonso, on behalf of the president and the other officials, invited SRL’s Chancellor, Latin American President, and professors to speak at their National Congress in Mexico City in November.



Rev. Alonso Perez and Rev. Roblero will be attending the Annual SRL Banquet in Orlando on October 24th. On the 25th, they will do a presentation for the SRL Board of Trustees.
