TWO SRL REFORMED CONVENTIONS IN CENTRAL AMERICA, APRIL 22-30
The time has come for SRL to provide greater support to the Reformation efforts in Central America. That part of the continent is one of the most difficult places for the Reformation. It is dominated by prosperity “gospel” and Charismatic, Arminian, and other non-reformed doctrines. Those were the doctrines that they received mainly from the United States. Thank God for our good friend Pastor William Green in Costa Rica who, almost single-handedly, has labored for the Reformation for many years. SRL gave conferences in Guatemala, Panama, and Costa Rica, but little fruit was observed. However, when SRL graduates returned to their countries from Medellín, they became heavy Reformation promoters. They invited Pastor Castiblanco, SRL’s Academic Director, to speak to an audience of over 4,000 in a Guatemalan stadium. God also called a Reformed Pastor, Isaias Martínez, to travel from Honduras to many cities and towns in Central America to promote Reformed theological education through SRL. The flame began to grow and now a large number of pastors and seminarians have begun to study at SRL. This year, by invitation of SRL Coordinator Pastor Martínez, we will hold the first SRL Reformation Convention with attendees from all Central American countries. Among the speakers is Pastor Javier Domínguez, whom God removed from prosperity gospel, placed as a column of the Reformation, and blessed him with the largest well-organized, faithful Reformed church in El Salvador. SRL needs to raise $14,000.00 to pay for these conventions. Besides logistic and traveling costs, we must help many poor pastors who need food and other assistance. Some travel by bus for 20+ hours. Please pray that God will use this event to reform the church in Central America.
DR. JOEL BEEKE PARTICIPATES IN SRL MONTHLY THEOLOGICAL LECTURE AND AN INTERVIEW WITH DR. ACOSTA – MARCH 10, 2022, 7 PM
Dr. Joel Beeke will give an overview of his Reformed Systematic Theology, Volume One. This book has already been translated into Spanish and will be a required reading in SRL. We thank Dr. Beeke for allowing SRL to use this, and his other courses, at all sites throughout Latin America. DOES REFORMED THEOLOGY DENY THE ROLE OF WOMEN IN THE CHURCH?
When Arminian churches become Reformed, women who were pastors need to know their biblical role within the church. By God’s mercy, Mimi, as the Director of SRL Women’s Ministries, under the authority of local pastors, has given workshops and demonstration lectures to women, teaching them about the many services they can properly provide to the church. This includes instructing children, counseling other women, and teaching ladies’ Bible studies. Mimi has taught six books of the Bible in an expository manner and dozens of lectures in several cities and countries. Please pray for Mimi. She will be teaching in two cities in Central America from April 22 to May 2, 2022.
LAST MONTH, COLOMBIA PASSED NEW LAWS LEGALIZING THE MURDERING OF THE UNBORN.
SRL, through its pro-life Adonai ministry, reacted with this picture on its website and social media. Up to now, 217,804 people saw it and 14,325 responded and shared it with others. It is as if this baby is saying: “My mommy protected me, and I am happy here.”
